Sustainable design is the future in building and part of that is sourcing materials that meet certain criteria. GREENE-BOARD contributes to 5 LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) categories and can be used in a variety of scenarios. It can be used not only as a wall tile backer but also as an underlayment for ceramic tile and a drywall replacement in locations where moisture, mould, fungus and impact resistance is important.

MR 4.1 Recycled Content. GREENE-BOARD contains a total of 15% recycled materials by LEED formula.
MR 2.1 Construction Waste management Reduction of Materials, 2.1 = 50% reduction GREENE-BOARD has no toxic components.
MR 8.0 Lifetime Durability Credit (Canada Only) GREENE-BOARD is considered a permanent substrate that can contribute to the LEED MR 8.0 for Building Durability Plan.
Minimum EQ Contribution, GREENE-BOARD contains no silica, no formaldehyde, no asbestos and is rated ASTM D3273 as a non-nutrient for mould and fungus. It is not harmful for installers, and contributes no harmful substances to the environment.
